BioFAIR Fellowship Launches to Empower the Next Generation of FAIR Leaders

We are delighted to announce the official launch of the BioFAIR Fellowship, starting on 1 October 2025. This new programme is designed to build a vibrant and skilled community of researchers and professionals who will lead the way in embedding FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data and workflow practices across the life sciences.

The BioFAIR Fellowship is a flagship initiative of the UKRI-funded BioFAIR programme, supporting the UK life sciences community in transforming how data is shared, stewarded, and reused. The Fellowship brings together a diverse cohort of individuals from across academia and the wider UK life sciences ecosystem, equipping them with the training, networks, and resources to drive sustainable cultural change around data.

Through the Fellowship, BioFAIR will:

  • Empower Fellows to act as champions and connectors for FAIR data and workflows.
  • Strengthen links between communities of practice in research, technology, and infrastructure.
  • Highlight and amplify leadership already making a difference in data stewardship.
  • Foster a visible and sustainable network of experts driving cultural change.

The Fellows are not only thought leaders in their fields, but also active contributors to the wider community, offering their expertise and experience to enable better science through the FAIR principles.

The Fellowship represents a key milestone in BioFAIR’s mission to create a trusted and sustainable community that accelerates discovery and innovation. By empowering individuals to act as champions within their institutions and communities, we are laying the foundations for long-term change.

We are proud to welcome the first cohort of Fellows and look forward to sharing their journeys, achievements, and contributions in the coming months:
