Opportunities

Methods Commons

BioFAIR is investing up to £4 million over an initial two-year period to establish the Methods Commons partnership and team, with the expectation that a successful collaboration will be extended to deliver the full programme of work through to June 2029 and beyond.

We are inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from applicants eager to be involved in the BioFAIR Methods Commons. This is the first part of a process to form a partnership with a team that will assume responsibility for the full design, development, and long-term maintenance of the BioFAIR Methods Commons.

Vacancies

Lead Architect

BioFAIR is hiring a Lead Architect, who will be responsible for defining and guiding the technical vision, architectural strategy, and design principles for our national, federated life‑science digital research infrastructure. This position blends aspects of systems architecture and solutions architecture, ensuring BioFAIR creates coherent, interoperable, sustainable, and FAIR-aligned services, delivered by distributed UK partners, that can be embedded in a variety of different life sciences settings.

Check back for future vacancies in the BioFAIR Hub, hosted by the Earlham Institute

BioFAIR Pathfinder Projects

The recruitment for BioFAIR Pathfinder Projects has now closed. We’re busy reviewing your applications and will be in touch in early 2026.

Once selected, Pathfinder Projects will act as exemplars, driving requirements for the BioFAIR initiative and developing proofs-of-concept that can benefit from, and be incorporated into, the national infrastructure.

We hope to launch a similar call in late-2026.

BioFAIR Fellowship Programme

The recruitment for the 2025 cohort of BioFAIR Fellows has now closed. Thank you to those who submitted an application — and to those who joined the webinars, helped spread the word, or supported applicants along the way.

Check out our blog post on the 2025 cohort here.

Future Fellowship calls will be launched in mid-2026.
